What are we doing for 2026?

PHILADELPHIA250’s mission is closely aligned with Mayor Cherelle Parker’s vision for a “united city” and a semiquincentennial celebration that reaches all neighborhoods and residents. In honor of the nation’s 250th birthday, the City of Philadelphia will uplift and showcase the vibrancy of its communities, cultures, and small businesses through neighborhood-level investments designed to have a catalytic effect on community development long past 2026. A coordinated, targeted series of citywide programs will inspire civic pride and help equitably distribute the economic impacts of 2026 across neighborhood business districts and commercial corridors. PHILADELPHIA250 is working in close collaboration with several city agencies including the Commerce Department, Office of Clean and Green, the Streets Department, Parks and Recreation, as well as City Council. This public private partnership enables us to leverage funds we have raised from the private sector against city funding being committed for 2026 by the Parker administration and City Council- to ensure a memorable, equitable and joyful commemoration for Philadelphia’s neighborhoods.
