How to get involved? 

  1. Pick up your Stars, Stripes, and Savings Pass in the special edition of the Historic Gazette on July 2nd during the Red, White and Blue To-Do.

  2. Hold onto your savings pass and start planning your return visit to America's most historic square mile.

  3. Score big discounts when you return to Philadelphia's historic district on or before September 1, 2025.

Special Programming:

National Park Service

  • April 19 - 27: National Park Week: Hang out with a park ranger and enjoy activities that will expand your love and appreciation for our National Parks.
  • April 19: Jr. Ranger Day: Join park staff and partners in family-friendly activities that will show all we do to protect our nation's historic places. Play games, collect NPS trading cards, and earn a Jr. Ranger badge.

 

Elfreth's Alley

  • Our museum will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12pm-4pm. Most of these days will feature a colonial dressmaking demo in our museum house.
  • April 27 at 4 p.m.: The Alley Book Club will discuss "The Diary of Elizabeth Drinker" a woman who lived close to Elfreth's Alley in the 18th Century.

National Constitution Center

  • Don’t take a break from learning while school is out for Spring Break—head to the National Constitution Center for interactive exhibits, engaging programs, activities, and more. The first and only museum dedicated to the U.S. Constitution, visit the Center and explore how “We, the People” have truly shaped our nation’s history, making our Constitution more inclusive.

Arch Street Meeting House

  • Reopening March 13th - with a new lobby and historic West Room exhibits. The first remodel to the meetinghouse in decades, we're excited to unveil the completed phase one of the new exhibit project on Thursday, April 10th from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • April 25: National Historic Marker Day a service-oriented event that brings people and communities together to maintain their markers by cleaning them and providing an opportunity to celebrate and preserve history. Join us for a walking tour of the area stopping at neighboring historic markers. 

 

African American Museum in Philadelphia

  • Two new exhibits will be opening. 
    • Demond Melancon: As Any Means Are Necessary - Demond Melancon (b. 1978) creates intricate beadwork using only a needle and thread. A Black Masker since 1992, he is known for his massive, sculptural Suits, hand-sewn with glass beads to tell collective visual narratives.
    • The Pearl Bailey Showcase Selections from the African American Museum in Philadelphia's Baily/Bellson Collection - Pearly Bailey was an award-winning actor, singer, songwriter, and author.

 

Arden Theatre Company

  • April 14 - 18: For students in Grades K-5, our one-week theatre camp runs Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-4:30 PM, culminating in a final performance on Friday, April 18, at 4:00 PM. Campers will explore acting, improv, music, dance, and playwriting while creating an original show. Extended care is available (8:00-9:30 AM & 4:30-6:00 PM) for $15/day or $100/week for both sessions. Camp tuition is $430—register by March 31 and save $50 with code SBCAMP25!

National Liberty Museum

  • April 17: Third Thursday - This monthly after-hours event transforms the Museum into a lively social scene to connect with friends, spark inspiration, or simply unwind in a unique atmosphere.

 

Science History Institute

Recently reopened in March. Explore a number of events happening at the Institute including School Lunch Tour, Stories of Science, and more. 

Independence Visitor Center

  • Stop by for maps, information, and answers to your questions about the Historic District. Check out our Historic District Ticket Bundle for discounts on tickets to select museums and attractions. 
  • April 12 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Art Star will be hosting another CRAP Bazaar market focused on craft supplies.

 

Liberty Garden

  • Reopening April 10th, enjoy cocktails, light bites, and cold beer in the outdoor space on Independence Mall. Located right across from the Independence Visitor Center.

  • Stop by for their new exhibition, Small but Mighty: Models, Toys and Miniature Ships.
