The Philadelphia Visitor Center and Independence Historical Trust, in partnership with National Treasure Hunt LLC, invite visitors and residents to celebrate National Treasure Weekend from August 20–22, 2026.
This three-day event honors one of Philadelphia's most beloved film franchises while showcasing the city's real-life national treasures during the nation’s semiquincentennial year.

Movies on the Mall
Celebrate National Treasure Weekend with two unforgettable outdoor movie nights on historic Independence Mall. Watch National Treasure (2004) and National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) under the stars, with special introductions from director Jon Turteltaub, free popcorn, and one of Philadelphia's most iconic backdrops.
HEIST NIGHTS
Hosted on August 20th and August 22nd at Carpenter’s Hall, this immersive, competitive adventure is led by creators of the National Treasure Hunt podcast, books, and tours. Participants will team up to crack clues and solve written and escape room-style puzzles in a race to uncover a missing piece in a decades-long treasure hunt. Registration is required.
Live Podcast Recording with Director Jon Turteltaub
Go behind the scenes of the beloved National Treasure film franchise during a special live recording of the National Treasure Hunt podcast at The Liberty View. Join hosts Aubrey Paris and Emily Black as they welcome acclaimed director Jon Turteltaub for an unforgettable conversation featuring behind-the-scenes stories, filmmaking insights, and fan-favorite moments from the movies. Registration is required.
Historic Views, Great Brews
Make the most of National Treasure Weekend with a stop at Liberty Garden, the seasonal beer garden on Independence Mall. Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy a special National Treasure inspired item.
Then, settle in for Movies on the Mall, where free popcorn will be provided by Liberty Garden during both screenings of National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. It's the perfect pairing for an unforgettable movie night under the stars in the heart of Historic Philadelphia.
