Wheelchairs are available for rent at the National Park Service Desk inside the Independence Visitor Center. Simply fill out the form provided and present a picture I.D. to reserve a manual wheelchair. No cost is necessary. Rental is based on availability and is provided on a first come, first served basis.


Open captions are available on all Independence National Historic Park films including "Independence" and "Choosing Sides" shown inside Theater I and II at the Independence Visitor Center. Assistive Listening Devices are available upon request at the National Park Service Desk.

A portable Loop System is available at the Visitor Services Desk, compatible with all telecoil equipped hearing aids, cochlear implants, and induction loop receivers. We also have a receiver with headphones for people who do not have the compatible hearing aids.


ASL interpretation is available by request.  Please call 215-597-7130 at least 14 days prior to your visit.
