Independence Visitor Center remains open during the government shutdown.

All National Park Service sites are closed as long as there is a lapse in federal funding.

Independence Visitor Center is open with reduced hours of operation, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. during the federal government shutdown. 

The Visitor Center will be closed on Tuesday, January 22, and begin operating a reduced schedule, closing every Sunday and Monday.
